A wonderful example of how an architect can add value to an unprepossessing situation and, with vision, exceed expectations.
Amadora Flat
The main objective of this project is to to instill an image of contemporaneity adapted to the modern way of living. Its small size typology presented series of challenges that needed to be solved. The intervention aimed to erase these faults by clarifying the uses of a small 1 bed flat and creating areas of natural sun light on the social and private spaces (living room and bedroom) and relocating the kitchen/storage spaces to the center of the property – adjacent to the bathroom – to work as an efficient flat core unit.
